# /etc/init.d/mysql stop
# mysqld_safe --skip-grant-tables &

mysql> use mysql;
mysql> update user set password=PASSWORD("imsostupid") where User='root';
mysql> flush privileges;
mysql> quit

# mysqladmin -u root -p shutdown
# /etc/init.d/mysql start
